Christopher Smith meets Danish Architect Bjarke Ingels

Christopher Smith, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark,

attended the opening celebration of the U.S. headquarters of the Bjarke

Ingels Group (BIG) in New York City.

The event was one of many scheduled during the visit of Their Royal

Highnesses’, The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Denmark, visit

to New York. Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary were

the guests of honor at the event.

Bjarke Ingels started BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group in 2006 after

co-founding PLOT Architects in 2001 and working at OMA in

Rotterdam. Through a series of award-winning design projects

and buildings, Bjarke Ingels has created an international

reputation as a member of a new generation of architects

that combine shrewd analysis, playful experimentation, social

responsibility and humour.
