Communication: Phone, Internet, Mail and TV

When moving to a foreign country we know how crucial it is to be able to contact and stay in touch with family,

friends and co-workers, etc. in Denmark and in the U.S.

Telephone, Cable TV, Internet

Good places to buy electronics like radios, telephones, TV’s, computers, etc. are RadioShack, Costco

Best Buy, and Circuit City. It is beneficial to check prices from all stores before buying as they might differ.

AT&T is one of the largest suppliers of local and long distance telephone service in Atlanta.

They also provide digital TV and DSL Internet service.

Comcast is another large cable TV and Cable Internet provider, who often will offer their services as a

“package deal” at a favorable price.

If you do not need cable Internet, there are many other providers that offer internet through an ordinary phone line.

For Cable TV providers, check out Dish Network, and Comcast.

If you need a really fast and reliable internet connection Clear is known to be really good, however their services

are also more expensive.

Many companies provide inexpensive long distance calls with prepaid calling cards such as onesuite.com or

callingcard.com. It is however also worth considering using skype when talking to friends and family in Denmark.

Postal Service

United States Postal Services (USPS) has post offices located all over the Atlanta area.

However, If you need to insure shipping, next day delivery, or other related services you should go to a so-called

shipping store: Mailboxes, UPS or FedEx etc. These stores charge a fee for metering and sending mail,

so for ordinary letters the USPS is the cheapest solution.
