Here you can read about different sport opportunities in Atlanta and specifically in the DACC community.
The DACC is currently affiliated with some interesting sports organizations in Atlanta, but we also arrange
and host our own Sports Events throughout the year. Our goal is to provide you with some great tips about
where you can go if you want to join a running club, a cycling group, a fitness center or a local soccer team.

Partnerships
Atlanta Bicycle Coalition
The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is the largest advocacy group for cyclist in the Atlanta-area.
They are currently working to build a bike-friendly Atlanta, inspired by what we have accomplished in Denmark
in recent years. Today one third of all citizens in Copenhagen ride their bike to work every day.

Silverbacks Soccer
The DACC is proud to announce that we have entered into a very exciting partnership with the local
Professional Atlanta Silverbacks Soccerteam. As a DACC member you will be able to purchase tickets

Atlanta Silverbacks is an American professional soccer team based in Atlanta.
Founded in 1995, the team plays in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the
American Soccer Pyramid, having previously sat out the 2009 and 2010 seasons while the ownership
"assessed the soccer landscape" they returned to professional competition in 2010.
The team's colors are red and black. The team plays its home games at Atlanta Silverbacks Park in Chamblee, Georgia.

DACC Running Club
A small group of dedicated Danes and Americans meet up every Saturday morning to start of the weekend
on a good note, with a run in the beautiful surroundings by the Chattahoochee River:
Time: 7:30am – 9:30am
Location: Powers Ferry Trail, 1955-2069 Eugene Gunby Rd, Marietta, GA 30067
Distance: 5km – 20Km OR more

Balut
A group of Danes and Americans meet up four times a year to play Balut.

Annual Golf Tournament
The DACC will be hosting the 2011 DACC Golf Tournament on the Eagle Watch Course in Woodstock on

Local Atlanta Fitness Clubs
There is a million fitness clubs you can join when first moving to Georgia. Below is a list of the most popular ones
with many different locations. Be aware that many require that you sign-up for a year membership.
Martial Arts
Many of the DACC interns and DTC employees have been fond of the Martial Arts Fitness Club X3 Sports in
Inman Park, Atlanta.
Local Yoga Centers
Most fitness clubs will offer yoga classes. However there are also many wonderful yoga centers.

Triathlon Clubs
Running Groups
In Atlanta more or less all the local running stores will also have running groups that will meet up a couple
of times a week. Check the links below for more info.
Soccer Associations
Soccer or Football as we prefer to call it in Denmark is becoming more and more popular in the United States.
There are several local leagues you or your kids can join in the area.
It is also worth going to cheer for the local professional men’s soccerteam the “Atlanta Silverbacks” or the professional
women’s team the “Atlanta Beat”.
Cross Fit and Bootcamps
It has become very popular to do so-called CrossFit work-outs in recent years in the U.S.
Cycling Teams and Races
Georgia is a great place to do long beautiful bike rides/races in a group. However, be extremely careful riding the streets
alone as drivers are generally not accustomed to be looking out for cyclists. We recommend you visit a local bike-store
in your neighborhood to hear more about the group rides they offer. You can also check out some of the links
