Dear DACC Members, Sponsors and Friends.
It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I join the DACC as Executive Director.
I am very honored by the trust and commitment the Board of Directors has shown by
giving me the opportunity to work to improve the overall business performance of the
organization.
I have enjoyed meeting many of you at past DACC business, cultural or social events.
For those of whom I have not yet had the pleasure, I am happy to share my story with you.

I have always had a profound interest in understanding diverse aspects of our complex world. In pursuing this goal, I have
found traveling and experiencing different cultures beneficial to broadening my horizons and augmenting my cross-
cultural understanding. This curiosity has also guided my choice of education, leading me to do my undergraduate work
in International Relations and Political Science at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida where I was offered an Athletic
Soccer Scholarship.
After graduation from Lynn University, I returned to Denmark to work full-time at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS)
in Copenhagen. DIS is a Danish study abroad program for approximately 1500 university students annually - most of
which come from American Universities.
More recently, I completed my Master of Business, Language and Culture (Cand.Merc.Int) from Copenhagen Business
School. I moved to Atlanta with my fiancé back in the summer of 2009 to finish up my degree with a study abroad at
Georgia State University. We both quickly came to realize that we truly enjoy living in Atlanta and we plan to stay here
for many years to come.
I eagerly look forward to working with the current DACC team: Chairman and President, Michael Haagen Jensen;
the newly inaugurated Board; our two Danish interns Henriette Kolbeck and Michael Madsen; and our many great
volunteers. Together we will strive to meet the overall goals and objectives of promoting business and cultural exchange
between Denmark and the United States. In the weeks to come, focus will be on identifying new initiatives and visions
to achieve organizational success.
We hope to:
-
arrange more quality business, cultural and social events throughout the year by partnering up with local
businesses and organizations.
-
coordinate more of our activities with local Chambers of Commerce as well as the other Scandinavian and
European Chambers of Commerce located in Atlanta, GA.
Whether you’re a new member, active, sustainer, sponsor, partner or a friend – thank you for your interest, commitment,
and belief in the DACC.
I look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming events for 2011, and I invite you to call or email me at any time, should
you have any questions, concerns or suggestions – let’s have an open and active dialogue.
Respectfully,
Stine Riis Svenningsen
