On Sunday, December the 9, DACC held its annual Christmas Lunch: Meeting at the Jimmy Carter Center in Atlanta. The day was absolutely beautiful with temperatures in the mid 70s°F, which is quite unlike traditional Danish winter weather.
The Christmas Lunch is a very popular event within the Danish community, and this year 150 members and friends of the DACC participated in the Christmas celebration.

In keeping with tradition, Vagn Nielsen with Proof of the Pudding prepared the feast of traditional Danish Christmas dishes. Before the seating, glögg and gingerbread cookies were offered and there was plenty of time to catch up with friends. The lunch was extremely delicious and offered everything from herring to traditional Danish rice pudding with cherry sauce. This year's Christmas Raffle had many great prizes sponsored by various DACC sponsors and individual members; the two grand prizes being Delta all-round flight tickets.

One of the highlights of the day was when last year's Community Leaders of the Year, Gitte & Steen Hagensen, proudly presented the 2007 Community Leader of the Year award. Many well-qualified candidates had been up for nomination, as quite a few people have been very active within the Danish-American Community. However, only one winner could be found, and Vagn Nielsen was honored with the title of Community Leader of the Year.
DACC kindly thanks each and every company and individual for making this memorable Christmas celebration possible - thank you for your donations and continuous support!
