Highlight of the weekend:
Friday evening, around 7 p.m., the first guests arrived at the Rich Theatre, part of the High Museum. The opening film, Adam’s Apples, featured the Festival’s Guest of Honor, Kazim, who played one of the leading roles as a rather disturbed young man. After the film, Ali Kazim was available for a Q&A session. It seemed obvious that the audience really enjoyed his character, along with his Danish humor, which is an integral part of this particular film.
The VIP Dinner was held at the Four Seasons. Sponsors of the Festival and sponsors of DACC were represented, along with individual business members and social members of the DACC. Ali Kazim also attended the dinner, and was presented with a trophy for his participation in the Film Festival.
After the dinner, it was time for the second movie of the Film Festival, Murk. Opposite of the comedy, Adam’s Apples, this was a thriller featuring among others, Niclas Bro and Nikolai Lie Kaas.
Next weekend, the Danish Film Festival will follow up the first weekend’s success with three new films beginning Friday evening at 8 p.m. and ending Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., with this year’s children’s movie, Little Big Mouse.
