On November 30, more than 50 children brought their parents and grandparents to DACC's Christmas Celebration for Children, held in the warm and welcoming Inman Part United Methodist Church. Reverent Leslee Samuelson opened the service talking with the children about Christmas, and afterwards Jette Binder recited the Christmas Gospel in Danish.

After the service, the families gathered to make decorations for the Christmas tree. The little workers got their energy from Danish æbleskiver (a type of christmas doughnut) and Cocio chocolate milk. The children were all very creative and the tree turned out beautiful. Afterwards, the tree was admired in all its glory, when the children danced around it singing Christmas carols at the top of their lungs. The smiles and singing continued as Santa made his entrance with a big bag full of presents for all. And it was a gift in return to see the happy smiles of the Children.

The tree was donated to the church by DACC and the extra presents have been donated to Toys for Tots.

We would like to give a big thanks to all the volunteers for making this event happen: Anne Sornpao, Jette Binder, Charlotte Kimhi, Charlotte Nytoft, All the volunteers baking æbleskiver, Cocio for donating Cocio chocolate milk, and of course also thank you to Santa for making time in his busy schedule.

Below, you can see pictures from the Celebration.
