On October 11, The historic and beautiful Oglethorpe University fittingly laid grounds to the 14th annual Scandinavian Festival in Atlanta. Again this year, DACC were involved in the festivities with a booth at the festival and with sponsor t-shirts for the Danish soccer team.

The weather was sunny, though a bit windy, and many Scandinavian-rooted and interested Americans had shown up to celebrate and learn about the Scandinavian cultures. Especially the booths featuring different cultural food specialities and treats attracted a lot of attention. Two of DACC’s own members were among the popular food vendors - Nordic Import and Danish Delight.

The DACC booth received great help in manning the booth from our Board Members, Anne-Mette Sornpao and Charlotte Nytoft, and we met a lot of happy people, and feel that we managed to spread the word of DACC.

DSV sponsored and managed the Danish soccer team. The Danish team won their first match against Norway, but unfortunately saw themselves defeated by Sweden in the final. At DACC we congratulate them for making it to the final, and we keep our faith that the trophy will be ours next year!
