School Year 07/08 and Danish School in the Future
The school year 07/08 has ended and it has been a great year! A lot of new students signed up for Danish school last September, especially adults, which was great to see. This year the school offered the following classes: Children's Class (Bettina Vestesen), Adult & Teenager Advanced Class (Katrine Rubenstein & Kasper Ryt-Hansen), Adult Beginners Class (Jette Juel Binder). Substitute teacher: Julie Gjedsted.
This school year the Children's Class was taught by Bettina Vestesen, who has been very active within the Danish school. Bettina has done a wonderful job teaching the children; with her background from teaching children in Denmark she has definitely been able to put the class up a couple of levels. The children have truly enjoyed Bettina's teaching, and we thank her for the great work and effort she has put into the Danish school over the years.
Also we will be saying goodbye to Kasper Ryt-Hansen, as he will be returning to Denmark in June. Kasper started out teaching the Teenagers and did a really great job. A while into the school year, Kasper and Katrine joined forces and classes and created a good atmosphere that really motivated their students to learn about Danish language and culture. Especially Kasper's previous teaching experiences proved to be a huge help to the school. Julie has been our substitute teacher and stepped in whenever needed. She has been a wonderful help to us.
Thanks to everybody for the good work and high spirits; this year has been really great and a big success! Especially a big thanks to Bettina, Kasper and Julie for being there for the Danish School - they will be missed.

Improve Your Danish While Learning More About Danish Culture And History
The interest in learning Danish has increased since the Danish school first started back in 2005. Last year the school expanded from 10 to 35 students and the school now offers different levels of classes for adults, teenagers and children. The Danish school is run on a voluntarily basis by people in the Danish community.
What Do You Get?
The students will receive training in oral Danish as well as written. Among other things, we will read a Danish textbook, do exercises and occasionally watch DVDs to discuss in class. The materials used in class will be textbooks, worksheets etc. designed for “Folkeskolen”. Also games will be an important part of the classes.
The purpose of the class is to increase and maintain the students’ knowledge of Danish language and culture. We will incorporate as many Danish customs and celebrations as possible, and learn a little about Danish history as we go along.
How Do I Sign Up?
Send an e-mail to Jette Binder or Katrine Rubenstein indicating name, birthday and postal address. Please also include information about level in the mail.
