This year's Children's Christmas Celebration took place on Sunday,
December the 2nd at Inman Park Methodist Church in Atlanta. The
event was a great success and more than 35 children along with
their families and friends attended the festivities.
The day began with an Advent service which was added a Danish
feature in the form of the Christmas Gospel about the birth of
Jesus Christ. Jette Binder, who is in charge of the Danish
School, read the Christmas Gospel in Danish.
After the Advent Service, it was time for the children to
experience Danish "Julehygge" at its best. Both children and
parents had a great time creating Christmas decorations and
paper Christmas ornaments. In between the cutting and creativity
there was time for traditional Danish singing games and dancing.
And of course Christmas Glogg and home-made Ebelskiver.
To everyone's great surprise, Santa Claus stopped by with
Christmas presents for all the children!
The day ended with goody bags; white paper bags were handed out
for the children to decorate and the reward was of course lots
of goodies.
