Did you know of the existence of "Bien", a Danish News-

paper published in the United States? I did not, until Jørgen

Conradsen brought it to my attention. Jørgen is a local editor

for Georgia. The newspaper is published every other

Thursday by Jytte Madsen, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief.

Giro d'Italia in Denmark PDF Print E-mail

From 5th through 7th of May, the first three stages of

Giro d'Italia has been taking place in Denmark.

Saturday the prolog, a short time trial of 8,7 km was

driven in Herning, and the following days the riders

drove around the Herning and Horsens area in

Jutland.

For the second year in a row, the joint team of the Danish

American Chamber of Commerce and the Swedish American

chamber of Commerce won the Tennis Tournament between

the bi-national chambers of Atlanta. Each chamber partici-

pated with an A, B and C team playing each other on each

 level. The Swedish-Danish team only lost one match,

winning the other five.

The second golf tournament took place at the beautiful Lake

Arrowhead golf course in the north Georgia mountains in

Waleska. It was arranged by Jørgen Conradsen, who did an

excellent job ensuring everybody had a wonderful day. The

weather was nice for golf with 80F and sunny, and the golf

course was in very good shape and a challenge.

Global Connect II

DACC attended Global Connect II at the incredible

200 Peachtree Street on May 3rd. 

This was the second annual Global Connect event,

and was a great succes, with over 25 international

chambers and associations. DACC had a booth at

the event, and spend the evening networking and

answering questions about Denmark, Danish

companies and DACC.

For the third year in a row the Danish Restaurant Noma

has been elected as the best restaurant in the World.

The succes is due to the unique, Nordic food by chef

Rene Redzepis with an awareness of the detail and an

innovative approach. It is the British "Restaurant

Magazine" who are grading the 50 best restaurants of

the World.

28 people showed up for Balut at the Waterford Green Club-

house on April 28. I think I speak on behalf of everyone, we

had a fun evening highlighted by the excellent food served

by Vagn and Lotte and a record high (I think) winning Balut

couple. Hanne and Benny Christensen’s winning score was

71 with Hanne making Baluts as we have never seen be-

fore, closely followed by Vibeke and Steen Morup-Olesen.

As part of a trip to Washington D.C., students

from Macon's Stratford Academy visited the

Royal Danish Embassy. Pernille Florin Elbech,

Senior Advisor, Public Diplomacy and Commu-

nication at the Royal Danish Embassy made a

presentation on Denmark to the 6th graders.

"Copenhagen" by Michael Frayn

Starting Friday the 27th of April, the show "Copenhagen" will

be playing at the Academy Theatre in Avondale Estates,

Georgia. The Tony award winning masterwork is about the

final conversation between between Niels Bohr and Werner

Heisenberg in 1941 in Copenhagen.
